Module Description

Engineering Chemistry is a module for Process Engineering students which deals with fundamentals of Engineering Chemistry, including Chemical Equilibrium, Chemical Kinetics/Thermodynamics and Surface Chemistry. This module continues the process of helping students to understand key aspects of chemistry which relate to process industries and enable students to discover connections between chemistry and other sciences and process technology. In order to help students develop critical thinking skills, the module features student-centered active and collaborative classroom activities and inquiry-based laboratory and media projects. Students learn best when they build on past experience, relate what they are learning to things that are relevant to them, have direct "hands-on" experience, construct their own knowledge in collaboration with other students and teachers, and communicate their results effectively. This module continues the process of helping students to develop these generic skills necessary for scientific and higher studies.
