This course introduces the basic principles of various physical, mechanical and mass transfer sepration processes. Mechanical and physical separation process including, size reduction and particle technology, filtration cyclone separation and others are included. It also focuses on mass transfer operations, design and sizing of different kinds of mass transfer equipment and their applications in the process industry. It covers mainly the common separation processes such as absorption, adsorption, distillation, extraction, leaching and drying. Formulation of separation theory of the above said equipment and design calculations and common typical equipment available in process industrials are the focus areas of this particular course.
