This Year 3 Semester 2 module for Logistics and Transport Management students provides participants with an overview of warehousing management and its various functions. It is the 2nd of warehousing   modules, and thus, aims to continue from the Year 2 to analyze further the particulars of warehousing concepts, processes and strategies requisite for building managerial skills and competencies required by the industry today.

This subject emphasizes the importance of the roles and functions of inventory and warehousing operations in logistics and supply chain management. It also provides students with the basic knowledge and skills regarding the design and management of warehousing operations. In addition, the module considers the role of the warehouse in the transport chain and places it centrally in the overall logistics management, including integrated warehousing systems and sharing information with stakeholders. In addition to the module specific learning outcomes, the content as well as the teaching methods utilized throughout the implementation of the module, aim to develop students’ oral communication, listening, interpersonal skills and qualities and succinct reasoning. The student will gain a holistic view of supply chain management, design and application and will be encouraged to utilize this knowledge to enhance company performance and consumer satisfaction.
